After studied architecture in Trisakti University, in 2001 Maesa go straight to work at a radio station as one the researcher in the library, and later on as the head of general affairs department. The radio station is 68H, is a NGO managed radio station in Jakarta, concerned in the free flow of information.

In 2004 Maesa decide to move on from NGO based business, to a real business world. He go to BBC London, to have a course about TV (technical and production aspect). After the ccourse, he resigned from Radio 68H. and go to Surabaya to work at JTV.
JTV is a local TV station in Surabaya, East Java. It is under Jawa Pos, a daily newspaper, the biggest newspaper network in Indonesia.
Maesa now is the CEO of JTV.
