Sinta Sirait received her Bachelor’s Degree in Math and Sciences from University of Indonesia in 1990, and she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Colorado at Denver, Colorado in 1993. While completing her graduate studies, she started working at the Greater Denver Chamber of Commerce as Assistant to the Chief Economic Officer. In 1994, she joined Freeport-McMoRan Inc. with their Management Training Program. The following year, she returned to Indonesia and later on became the Senior Manager of Government Relations for PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI). In 2003, she was promoted to Vice-President of Government Relations and became a member of the company’s Social and Local Development Task Force.
In late 2004, Sinta went to work for Standard Chartered Bank as Country Head & Vice President of Corporate Affairs Indonesia and also as Member of Country Management Committee (ManCom). Two years later, she returned to PT Freeport Indonesia as Director-Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer until early 2012 then as Director-Executive Vice President and Chief Communication & Public Affairs Officer responsible for Corporate Communication, Government Relations and CSR. Sinta is also an active member in community and professional organizations, some of which are the Indonesian Mining Association, Yayasan Pembangunan Inovasi Daerah (YPID) which focuses on best practices in Governance & Public Administration, one of the founders of Indonesian Business Coalition on HIV-AIDS (IBCA) that promotes HIV-AIDS awareness and non-discriminatory policy in labor-intensive companies and Math and Sciences Alumni Association of University of Indonesia, ILUNI.
